TEAMS ARE NOW FORMING
Excellent Community Service Opportunity for Your Group!

On Sunday, April 13, 2008, Birmingham joins thousands of communities around the country in the CROP Walk for Hunger Relief. CROP Walks raise money for local and world hunger.

The Birmingham CROP Hunger Walk is the community coming together to raise money and awareness for hunger relief . . . locally and around the world.  Over 2000 CROP Walks happen every year nationwide.  The Birmingham CROP Hunger Walk encourages the active involvement of teams and individuals from public and private schools, civic and cultural groups, area businesses and all faith groups.

Walkers are asked to obtain pledge dollars from family, neighbors, colleagues and places of worship for their participation in the walk event. There is no fee to participate.  But each walker is encouraged to raise at least $100.  The Birmingham CROP Hunger Walk hopes to raise $20,000 in 2008.  And every walker gets a free official t-shirt!

"Yes, I am my brother's keeper. I am under a moral obligation to him that is inspired, not by any maudlin sentimentality but by the higher duty I owe myself. What would you think me if I were capable of seating myself at a table and gorging myself with food and saw about me the children of my fellow beings starving to death."
-EUGENE DEBS

"
Giving frees us from the familiar territory of our own needs by opening our mind to the unexplained worlds occupied by the needs of others."

-BARBARA BUSH

"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain.
If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, I shall not live in vain.
